The Point Arena Lighthouse, originally built in 1870, now a non-profit historic preservation project, offers tours and is an excellent site for whale watching, weddings and special events. Four historic keeper's homes are available for rent. Rental fees include entrance to the museum, tower and use of the grounds. The head keeper’s quarters is the closest house to the lighthouse, and has been recently refurbished. Each home is fully furnished with food preparation and dining facilities, a large wood-burning heat stove, satellite TV/VCR, and the most beautiful of ocean views.
