Owners Basil and Barbara Scalabrini planted their Estate Vineyard in 1978
with quality not quantity in mind. This small, family-owned winery produces
about 3,000 cases a year of Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay,
Rosé, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Port. The Tasting Room
is open daily from 12 - 5, offering art, gifts, cheese and a picnic area in
the ancient Gravenstein apple orchard with views of the vineyards, orchards,
open fields and distant redwood forests. Site available for weddings and
special events. Groceries

Nestled on a sunny coastal ridge, overlooking the Pacific Ocean a mile
below, our “True
Sonoma Coast” vineyard is one of the closest, if not the closest, to
the ocean in all of California. From the vineyard you can see the
breaking surf and the misty silhouettes of Bodega Head and Pt. Reyes far
below. The vineyard was developed and planted personally by the owners
Lester and Linda Schwartz and their small crew over a period of ten
years starting in 1994. The vineyard’s high elevation above the coastal
fog and its proximity to the ocean provide a gentle, sunny and temperate
climate that has proved to be very favorable for the slow and even
ripening of Burgundian varietals;
Pinot Noir,
Chardonnay
and
Pinotage.
Gualala Farmer's Market, an affiliate of Mendocino County Farmers Markets

Starcross is a small independent community of lay people living quiet
lives in the monastic tradition and offering encouragement and
affirmation to gentle folk on all spiritual paths. Since 1986, we have
been advocates for children in Sonoma County and throughout the world.
Visit our website is to learn more about us and ways to participate in
the activities and spiritual life of the community. We have planted 10
acres of olive on hillsides at Starcross in the hope that the olive oil
we make in the future will help to support our community. We are
dedicating the trees in the orchard to individuals as memorials to those
who have died or in honor of the living. To dedicate an olive tree,
please click
here. Our primary means of support are our
sales of Christmas wreaths and trays of dried fruit. Please click on our
full-color brochure and order form for this
year’s orders.
